Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia Survey (HILDA) - extension of data collection

Mark Wooden is very pleased to inform all HILDA Survey list subscribers that the Australian Government has announced, as part of the Budget released last night, that it will provide funding to extend the collection of HILDA Survey data for a further four years. This effectively guarantees the ongoing administration of the survey until end 2012, meaning data users (and other interested parties) can plan on a panel that will be at least 12 years long.

This obviously is fantastic news for the social science research community. There can be little doubt now that the HILDA Survey is well established itself and has made the transformation into a truly longitudinal data collection.
