What format are the Macroeconomic Reports and Time Series Data available in? What programs or software do I need?
- The Macroeconomic Reports are PDF's. You will require Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 6.0 and above.
- The Time Series Data is contained in excel spread sheets. You will require Microsoft Excel 2007 and above.
Who can access the Macroeconomic Reports and Time Series Data?
- The Macroeconomic Reports and Time Series Data may be used by the purchasing company only. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions when completing the payment options for more details.

Yes, the PDF's and excel files may be downloaded, printed and saved, provided that the use of the material is in line with the Terms and Conditions you agree to during the purchasing process.
When are the Macroeconomic Reports and Time Series Data released and updated to the Subscriber Services Area?
- The Melbourne Institute makes new Macroeconomic Reports available for subscribers from 11:00am on the day of release. The exception is the St.George - Melbourne Institute Household Financial Conditions Report which has a release time of 9:00am.
- Updates to the Time Series Data in the Melbourne Institute Economic Indicators: Time Series data (Electronic Databank) will occur at 11:00am on the day of the release of the corresponding Macroeconomic Report.
Where can I find the release dates?
- The release dates are advertised in the Subscriber Service Area. You will need to be a subscriber with an active login to access the release dates for the products to which you subscribe.
How do I access my subscriptions?
- Subscriptions to the Macroeconomic Reports or the Time Series Data in the Melbourne Institute Economic Indicators: Time Series data (Electronic Databank) are accessed online from the Subscriber Services Area, using the login username and password which you will be provided with after purchase.
How long does it take to receive a subscription login after purchase?
- Payment by one of the purchasing options listed on this page is required before access to the Subscriber Services Area may be granted. A login username and password will then be emailed to the Subscriber Contact; usually within 3 business days.
Why do you need a Subscription Contact?
- Information about subscription renewals and related administration will be communicated via email to the Subscription Contact. This may include being notified via email if there is a change to a product, if there is a problem with the Subscriber Service Area, or if a correction is made to a Report or the Time Series Data files post release.
- There can only be one Subscription Contact for the subscriptions held by a company. Details for your nominated Subscription Contact are to be completed during the purchasing process. Please ensure to advise the Melbourne Institute of any changes to the Subscription Contact details.
What does a calendar-year subscription mean? Can I subscribe part way through the year?
- Subscriptions run on a calendar-year basis from January to December. A subscription taken out at any stage during the year will expire on the 31 December of that same year.
- You may subscribe part way through the year; however the subscription cost will still be the calendar-year price because you will have access to all the releases of the subscription products that you subscribe to.
Can I access past Macroeconomic Reports in the Subscriber Services Area?
- Only Macroeconomic Reports from the current year are available in the Subscriber Services Area, but past issues are available via Single Issue Report purchase.
For Time Series Data, should I subscribe to the Melbourne Institute Economic Indicators: Time Series Data (Electronic Databank), or should I purchase Single Issue Data?
- A subscription to the Melbourne Institute Economic Indicators: Time Series data (Electronic Databank) is ideal if you require access to regular, updated Time Series Data. - Single Issue Data may be useful if you do not need updated data, or if you require only a small dataset, or data only infrequently. See FAQ" 'How do Single Issue Data purchases work?' for more details.

How do Single Issue Data purchases work?
- Time Series Data purchased as Single Issue Data will not be updated by the Melbourne Institute once it has been emailed to you. Explanations, charts, graphs or the corresponding Macroeconomic Report are not provided as part of this purchase.
- Additional single issue data purchases may be made at any time, but a new order will need to be completed before the data will be sent to you.
- Alternatively, a subscription to the Melbourne Institute Economic Indicators: Time Series Data (Electronic Databank) may be more appropriate if you require regular updates to the Time Series Data, or need to access the latest data as soon as it is available on the day of release.
What should I do if I require descriptions about the Time Series Data?
- For descriptions of the Time Series Data we recommend you either purchase a corresponding Macroeconomic Report, by one of the options listed on this page, or you may refer to the sample issues of the corresponding Macroeconomic Reports available on our website.
