The University of Melbourne Health Economics Group (UMHEG) is a cross-Faculty network of health economists at the University of Melbourne. The 41 members of the group are drawn from the:

- Department of Economics
Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Science
- Centre for Health Policy - Melbourne School of Population and Global Health
- Nossal Institute for Global Health
The aims of the group are to:
- conduct high quality and policy relevant research across a number of areas of applied health economics
- build capacity in health economics through postgraduate research supervision and teaching
- create a supportive environment for health economists working across the university
- raise the profile of health economics across the University
Our activities comprise an annual health economics workshop, joint hosting of domestic and international visitors, joint supervision of post-graduate students, mentoring of academic staff, and collaborative research.
Research is funded from competitive external grants from ARC, NHMRC, state and Commonwealth governments, and other sources. Members have a strong international record of health economics research that cover a wide range of areas.
