National VET Research and Evaluation Program

The LESP team was successful in gaining renewal of funding under the new 2011-2013 National VET Research and Evaluation Program to carry out seven projects in the national research priority area The contribution of education and training to social inclusion: To explore the reduction of disadvantage through education and training. These projects are listed below.

Under the first National VET Research and Evaluation Program, which ran from 2008 to 2010, the Melbourne Institute conducted research into VET Participation and Labour Market Outcomes for the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER). The Nine projects completed over the three years are listed below. Work from this program was presented at Forums in Melbourne and Canberra and at a one-day Workshop on skills held at the Melbourne Institute in November 2008. In November 2010, the Melbourne Institute co-hosted a VET and Disability Roundtable with NCVER. In addition, several papers from the work on this contract have been presented at various academic conferences and published in refereed journals.
