The causes of long-term unemployment

The objective of this project is to examine the underlying causes of long-term reliance on income support of unemployed customers. The project seeks to identify the effects of individual observed characteristics, unobserved heterogeneity and duration (or state) dependence.

Funded by: Australian Government Department of Family and Community Services.

The final report is currently scheduled to be completed in June 2005.
