201310.1 [10th October 2013]

  1. 8th November 2013 - Questionnaires: A review of the questionnaires found several issues with how the filtering conditions had been converted from the raw questionnaire script (exported from the CAPI software). The questionnaires have been revised and new versions are now available from the Survey Documents page.
  2. 7th November 2013 - HHMLS6M & HHMLSRP: The derivation of these two variables is inconsistent with the Melbourne Institute definition of housing status (HSTATUS2). This can be corrected by data users as follows: IF HTH5>0 OR HTH6>0 OR HTH7>0 THEN HHMLS6M = 1 IF HSTATUS2 == 1 OR HSTATUS2 == 2 OR HSTATUS2 == 3 THEN HHMLS6M = 1 IF JHWAVE>=2 AND (HXTH5>0 OR HXTH6>0 OR HXTH7>0) THEN HHMLSRP = 1 IF JHWAVE>=2 AND (HSTATUS2 == 1 OR HSTATUS2 == 2 OR HSTATUS2 == 3) THEN HHMLSRP = 1

201309.1 [17th September 2013]

  1. 7th October 2013 - User manual: The user manual contains incorrect internal cross references. A new version of the user manual is available from the website and will be included with future releases.
  2. 24th September 2013 - ELEDDUR: The proportion of time employed and the proportion of time not in the labour force was incorrectly calculated for the W1 cross sectional data (in this release only - this does not affect previous releases). This resulted in too many respondents being coded as Unknown (-1) or N/A (-3) in Waves 2 and 3. The W1 proportions will be revised and the W2/W3 proportions recalculated for the next public release.
  3. 20th September 2013 - Wave 3 weights: A coding error required the W3 weights to be revised however the effect is minimal.

201308.1 [19th August 2013]

  1. 10th September 2013 - Age first used illegal / street drugs (HWXIAGE0): A coding error resulted in 83 cases being coded as N/A (-3) where an age was reported during the interview. A further 422 cases were coded as Unknown (-1) which should have been coded as N/A (-3). This issue will be corrected in the next public release.
  2. 9th September 2013 - Accommodation calendar and proportion of time in accommodation: An issue with the fieldwork providers data extraction and processing caused the accommodation spell start dates in Wave 3 to be incorrectly calculated. This means that the sequence of accommodation spells (in the JH_ACCCAL data file) and the proportion of time variables (HTH* and HXTH*) will be incorrect for accommodation spells reported in Wave 3. Other variables which may be affected by this issue include: HHMLS6M, HHMLSRP, HSTATUS1, HSTATUS2, HACCDUR and HPROPALL. This issue will be corrected in the next public release.
