Productivity

The study of productivity at the firm level is an on-going research topic at the Melbourne Institute.  Issues that are of interest include measuring productivity of for-profit as well as not-for-profit firms, explaining productivity performance of firms, relating productivity to innovation, export performance, and the entry and exit of firms.  A significant part of the research agenda is on the construction of firm-level databases.  On this, significant progress has been made via collaborative efforts with IBISWorld, ABS, and other government and statistical agencies.
