King joined the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research in February 2007 as a Research Officer within the Labour Economics and Social Policy Research area.

She has completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Degree with Honours)/Bachelor of Information Systems at the University of Melbourne in 2006.

She commenced her PhD study at the Melbourne Institute in July 2007. Her thesis will be on 'Skill Accumulation and Career Development'.
