TD - Securities Melbourne Institute Experimental Monthly Inflation GaugeTD - Securities and the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research have developed a monthly inflation indicator to give the markets and policy makers a monthly update on inflation trends. Based on the methodology used by the ABS in calculating the quarterly consumer price index, the TD Securities – Melbourne Institute Experimental Monthly Inflation Gauge estimates month-to-month price movements for a wide-ranging basket of goods and services across main capital cities. The TD Securities – Melbourne Institute Experimental Inflation Gauge report is produced each month and released to the public at 10.00 am on the day prior to each monthly meeting of the Reserve Bank of Australia Board. The report is available by email and a hard copy is available on request. To subscribe to a free monthly report in 2005, please contact Michelle Best at (03) 8344 2100 or email: mbest@unimelb.edu.au
