The Estimation of a New Zealand Wage Equation and Labour Supply ModelThe objective of this project is to estimate labour supply models for couples (labour supply is jointly estimated for the two members of a couple), single men, single women and sole parents in New Zealand (if each of these groups is large enough to separately estimate an equation for them). The model should enable simulation of changes in labour supply behaviour after policy reforms that change the financial incentives of employment versus non-employment. As part of this project, wage equations for married men, married women, single men, single women and sole parents are also estimated. This wage equation is needed to generate imputed wages for non-workers in a labour supply model. Funded by: New Zealand Treasury. Researchers: Dr Guyonne Kalb and Dr Rosanna Scutella The project starts in November 2002 and is expected to be finished at the end of July 2003. For more information on this project, please contact Guyonne Kalb at g.kalb@unimelb.edu.au This project has been completed. The research paper arising from the project is:
